Using: Solas Alive

 What is Solas Alive?

Solas Alive has been developed so that Christians can use their social media to connect with others who may not know about Jesus Christ and connect them with basic information about Christianity and ways to connect with the Christian community.

How does it work?

Using their social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, websites, e-mail) individuals and congregations invite their contacts to view the Solas Alive videos. These videos are themed around Solas of Luther’s Reformation Sola Gratia (Grace Alone), Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone) and Sola Fides (Faith Alone) and use humour, or thought provoking dialogue in an effort to pique the interest of the viewer. When the person goes to the supporting webpages they will find information on the basics of the Christian faith, links to additional resources, a congregational search tools and the opportunity to ask questions.

So what could I do with this?

  1. First, check out the videos and webpage and related resources.
  2. Like or Share the Solas Alive videos when you see them on our pages: @LutheranLaymens LeagueCanada or @LutheranHourMinistriesCanada.
  3. Promote on Twitter.
  4. Put links to the on your webpage or your congregation’s website.
  5. Use www. in your e-mail signature.
  6. You can also promote in non-digital places, like newsletters, bulletins, business cards or church signs.

Why would I promote your videos?

The whole purpose of is to link people outside or on the fringes of the Christian church with the bride of Christ – His church. We are not promoting Lutheran Laymen’s League or Lutheran Hour Ministries we are trying to connect people with the Gospel’s Good News and if they do not already have a church home, link them with a congregation like yours.

By inviting people to watch the SolasAlive videos or visit the website you are providing the opportunity for them to connect with God’s Word, His Good News and his Church.

About The Videos

They are short and not blatantly religious because we are trying to interest people who may not even be looking for something spiritual. If the person does dig deeper into the site they will get more Christian teaching.

One video is quite dramatic, another uses humour and the third features some engaging children. The videos are currently available through the website but will be promoted and released periodically over social media like facebook and You Tube.

If you wish to download the videos for off-line use, they are available here.

How can I help?

When you see that they are being promoted – please like and share them to help improve their ratings in the search engines and social media listings.
